Bremont – Now Available at Norwich

it’s not very often I get to announce a new watch brand, but guess what?
Dipples have a new watch brand.
Introducing Bremont watches, now available at our Norwich store.
As you can see from the images, these are no ordinary watches. So what do you need to know about Bremont?
First things first, they are an English company. Very English in fact (the surname of the two founding brothers is English – you couldn’t make this stuff up…). Based in Henley-on-Thames, they are in the business of making high quality watches suitable for use in aviation and the military. The name Bremont comes from the French farmer who helped the English brothers repair their damaged aircraft after they were forced to land in his field. The full story of how this happened is too long to go into here, but look it up if you can, like I said, you would struggle to make it up.
The next important thing to note is that Bremont make as much of their product as they can in the UK, with the eventual aim being fully UK based production. Currently their case manufacturing, servicing and watch assembly is done in their UK workshop. Their movements are Swiss, from a few different movement manufacturers, and are generally heavily modified by the brand. The watches come in English made leather cases suitable for taking onto an aircraft, and with some models there’s even a little pouch for your passport.
They are a relatively young company, being a mere 16 years old this year. Like most teenagers, they like to do things their own way, and as a result they have – through sheer audacity in some cases – secured affiliations with companies as diverse as Jaguar, Boeing and Martin Baker (I know, I’d never heard of that last one either, being as I am a complete Muggle when it comes to aviation, but if ever you need an ejector seat, they’re your guys…). The watches Bremont have made in association with these companies show a level of quality and attention to detail the likes of which I very rarely get to see (the Jaguar E-Type MKII watch has to be seen to be believed).
The watches have been in the window for 3 days at the time of writing, and already we have had several enquiries (one was while the watches were being displayed!), so be sure to come and visit us and check out what Bremont have to offer.
