Rado

Rado, founded in 1917, was originally a watch movement producer, and in 1957 turned it's hand to producing watches under the brand name Rado. Five years later, and they launched the oval DiaStar - the world's first scratch resistant watch.

Now with a range of watches that are fit for the 21st century, with the majority of their range made out of high-tech materials, and very stylish and sleek designs. The modern classics such as the Sintra and Integral are sleek in design.

In fact the designs are so innovative that they have been awarded for it. The eSenza launched in 2001 was distinguished with several design awards:

  • 2001 'iF Design Award', Germany. This is one of the best-known and most prestigious design awards worldwide.
  • 2001 'Good Design' Award, Japan. "G-Mark" is a symbol for "high-quality", "great usability", and "well-balanced" products.
  • 2002 'IDEA Award' (Industrial Design Excellence Awards), USA.
